We provide expert advice, servicing, and full restoration services, as well as building tailormade vehicles to the owner’s specifications. We utilize our mechanical engineering and software engineering background to offer design services and custom parts.
History
The story of Otten Vehicle Engineering begins years before he was born, in a small workshop in Bremen Germany.
The photo on the left shows the humble origins, as small “werkstatt” in Bremen, Germany where bespoke VW-based custom bodied sports cars were produced. These vehicles, known as the Jetstar, led their creator, Ulrich Otten, to the United States. There his son Thomas Otten learned from his father and brothers, working in their VW and Porsche repair shops.
The love of these cars led Thomas to save all he could, selling his first car to be able to buy a Porsche 914 that was in need of much love. After graduating from Engineering school, Thomas began the process of restoring that 914, which then led him to gain experience with other models such as the 911 and 356.
